Sus creadores Muhammad Rahman y Soumyabrata Roy lo publicaron\nrecientemente en Cell Reports Physical Science. Detallan ah\u00ed c\u00f3mo han\nencontrado la manera de incorporar en la madera mol\u00e9culas de un material poroso\ncristalino que atrapan CO2. Para conseguirlo primero limpian la red de fibras\nde celulosa con un proceso de deslignificaci\u00f3n, m\u00e9todo que sirve para eliminar\nla lignina de la madera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La madera deslignificada se sumerge en una soluci\u00f3n con micropart\u00edculas de un MOF, siglas en ingl\u00e9s de \u00abmarcos organomet\u00e1licos\u00bb, que destacaban por su capacidad absorbente. En concreto se usa el Calgary framework 20 (CALF-20).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u00abLas part\u00edculas de MOF encajan con facilidad en los canales de celulosa y se adhieren a ellos a trav\u00e9s de interacciones superficiales favorables\u00bb, aclara Roy, quien dijo que el proceso no est\u00e1 exento de desaf\u00edos. \u00abMuchos de los MOF existentes no son muy estables en distintas condiciones ambientales. Algunos son susceptibles a la humedad, y eso no es algo deseable en un material estructural\u00bb, a\u00f1ade.
